Transportation and Logistics

A driver and an articulated vehicle driver transport different goods in traffic with van, lorry and vehicle combination. They use different loading equipment in their work, such as a forklift, crane and wheel loader. The work tasks include load handling, customer service and terminal tasks. Moreover, the tasks include management of telematics for logistics (GPS tracking devices, different navigation systems, smart cards, devices for wireless communication).

A bus driver transports passengers in local traffic, express coaches, liner and charter traffic. The bus driver’s job is a service profession.

The competition is individual.

• work in the digital operating environments required by the work task
• follow the principles of sustainable development in their work tasks

• prepare a lorry for a work assignment
• load a vehicle correctly
• drive the vehicle in outdoor areas and inside terminals
• drive the vehicle in traffic
• work using Finnish, Swedish or Sámi in customer service situations
• work in the best interests of their profession and workplace
• take into account the impacts of human factors on occupational and road safety
• prevent crime in transport through their activities
• take action in problem situations
• hand over the vehicle at the end of the work assignment
